A faculty member of Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences said: National oral health indicators show that children have an average of 5 decayed teeth before entering primary school.
Dr. Mohammad Hossein Khoshnovisan added: National oral health indicators show that children aged 5-6 have five decayed teeth on average before entering primary school, and only 12% of this age group do not have tooth decay.
He continued: At the age of 12, when baby teeth are replaced by permanent teeth, each child has two decayed teeth on average.
Decker Khoshnoisan said: Three years later, that is, at the age of 15, 27% of these children have tooth decay. Therefore, the percentage of 15-year-old children without caries decreases to 4%, which is simply due to insufficient attention to daily personal care.
